Top retailers in Turkey
The economic growth in Turkey is far higher than in most European countries. The Gross National Product increased on average 7% during the last 5 years and retailers are certainly playing an important role in this. Most retailers are from Turkish origin, but Carrefour and Metro anticipated and consequently exploited the growth, whereas other retailers hesitated to see the potential.
The main development is in food retailing, but fashion and other retail sectors are due to follow quickly.
